About Parbold Douglas Academy

Parbold Douglas Church of England Academy is an average sized primary school serving an affluent catchment area in the quiet and rural village of Parbold, nestled in the countryside of West Lancashire.

We are an outstanding Academy and Teaching School with strong leadership and management and an energetic, enthusiastic, caring team which is committed to high standards of education and behaviour. We always aim high, yet continually strive to raise the standards and aspirations for teaching and learning in a secure, caring, inclusive and welcoming environment. Our excellent provision for all children, from the age of two to eleven, is enhanced by a strong Christian ethos and very effective links with parents, governors, Christ Church Parbold and the local community.

The school has a wonderful family atmosphere that gives children a secure and happy environment in which to learn.

All children are given a wide range of opportunities to develop their skills, abilities and independence, during school hours, extra curricular activities, school visits or residential visits. The summers of 2016 the Year 6 children go to Ford Castle in Northumberland. Parbold Nursery, which has gone from strength to strength, enables a seamless transition into the Reception class for our four year olds.

Our motto is Christo et Doctrinae, For Christ and Learning. We want our children to be safe, happy and loved, to achieve their full potential whilst being well prepared for the world outside of formal education.
